Garage Apartment Plans

Since my mother-in-law passed away almost six months ago, my father-in-law is starting to find that living in a four-bedroom house by himself is just a ltle too overwhelming. He recently approached my husband about possibly changing his living suation, and we all agreed that the best solution would be for him to live closer to us. He is que lonely now, so living near us would allow him to vis the family anytime he wants. And, this arrangement would also help him out financially.

Unfortunately, since we're already cramped for space here, would be impossible for my father-in-law to move into the actual house. That's why we've been looking into garage apartment plans for the past few weeks instead. We have a sizable basic structure to work with , so all we have to do now is hire a contractor to draw up some different garage apartment plans for us to consider.

Living in a relatively rural area, we don't have many choices in the way of contractors around here. My husband and I actually went in to consult with the one of the bigger contractors in the area, but they didn't have any garage apartment plans on file that we could look at. However, they did tell us that they would definely be able to do the construction work if we could have someone else draw up the garage apartment plans first.

So after we returned home, we decided to check for garage apartment plans online. We figured that at the very least, we'd get a few good ideas about what to do with our space. It turns out we were right, as there are a bunch of webses that offer free garage apartment plans for people to browse through, download, and print out. In fact, there are so many different designs out there that I have a feeling my father-in-law is going to have a very tough time settling on just one!

In addion to garage apartment plans, our Internet search also turned up a bunch of contractors who, while not exactly local, are still close enough to maybe want to make the trip out here to do the work. I think will be worth contacting them for price comparisons, if nothing else. If one of these other contractors can take on the project for less than the local firm, we'd have no problem hiring them instead.

Even though we've still got a lot of work ahead of us, we all feel better now that we have a define direction to focus on. If everything goes well, my father-in-law's new living quarters could be ready in just a few months, which will be a relief to all of us.
