Christian Inspiration
By the way you hear some Christians talk about it, you would think that you give your soul to Jesus and then live happily ever after. There is this common feeling that salvation is the only thing that matters at all. The idea is that, once you are saved and your afterlife is secured, your responsibilities are over. You can witness to others of course, but this is only a side note in your life, since the main goal is to be saved.
In reality, this is totally bunk. One of the reasons that Christian inspiration is so important to so many people is that, even after you have accepted God into your life, your life goes on with its daily obligations and responsibilities. You have to still make the most out of each day for the rest of your life, and this is no mean task. Christians have to deal with just as much pain, disappointment, and defeat as anyone else, and like everyone else, they need inspirational messages to pick them up.
My favorite way to start a day is to go to a Christian inspirations web site and look at a few quotes of the day. There are several free devotional message sites out there which will give you some words of wisdom to help you in your faith and your life every single day. Some of them are tied to a particular denomination but, more often, they are open to anyone and everyone of faith. These are places where you can find Christian inspiration and advice on any issue from how to organize your household to how to deepen your relationship with the lord.
Of course, you can find Christian inspiration in places other than sayings and Bible quotations. Sometimes, you can find a particular song or book that really speaks to you, and take guidance from it in how to live a better life. I have many books which I draw inspiration from almost every day, and some of these have literally kept me going when time gets tough. After all, you have to keep in mind that the Bible was not written in modern times. Sometimes, a contemporary artist can do a better job of applying the wisdom of the Bible to the present than an average reader can.
Above all, I think that the best Christian inspiration I get comes from my friends and family. The people who know you best are the people best suited to help you when you stray, and guide you on the path. I learned to be a good Christian from my mom and dad, and up to this day, they are still the two most inspiring people in my life.
