Of course, you can't just rely on drinking water to lose weight. You've got to reduce your normal intake of calories and eat healthy foods too. So how does drinking water help you lose weight?

When you drink water to lose weight, consider this: water is heavy and it fills your stomach, so you can eat less and feel satisfied. It also flushes out your kidneys a good thing and enhances your digestive process. When you drink water to lose weight, the water cleans your bloodstream and takes some of the stress off other organs as well. As a result, you'll feel increased vitality, a general sense of well being and, best of all, you'll experience increased weight loss!

You've probably run across one or two of those (annoying) people who actually drinks 6-8 glasses of water a day. What can make them annoying is the fact that they're doing what you should be doing, most are fairly slim or losing more weight than you are or are ungracious enough to recommend you do the same.

Lots of people in urban areas do not like the taste of their chlorinated city water and also don't want to buy fancy 'designer' water bottles that put a big dent in the food budget. There's an easy solution to this. Just buy non-chlorinated drinking water in the gallon jugs at the grocery store. An even cheaper solution is to buy 3 or 4 empty bottles and fill, and then refill them yourself. If you still don't like the taste, or find water too boring of a beverage, add a teaspoon of lemon juice to each glass for a nice, refreshing beverage. Lemon juice has another advantage in that it tends to speed up your metabolism a bit.

There are lots of ways to add flavor to plain water. Pomegranate juice is yummy. Those coffee syrups, such as the Torani(R) brand, come in at least a dozen delicious flavors. Just a teaspoon of say, peach, cherry or vanilla makes a delicious beverage. Top it off with ice and voila! Something you enjoy drinking.

Your drink water to lose weight program can be buffed up if you make fruits and veggies a focal point in your menus. All of this additional fiber also serves to produce that full feeling, requires that your body burn calories to digest it and acts like a broom to your entire digestive tract. Plus, think of all those antioxidants, preventing free radical damage and giving your skin a smoother and healthier look.

When you drink water to lose weight, you're doing a tremendous amount of good to your entire body and you'll lose more weight in less time.

The only caveat is that, as you drop weight and start looking and feeling better and better, be sure not to be one of those annoying people. Be kind and gracious. If someone remarks at how good you look, then you can pass on your secret!
